Source: Turkey postpones next meeting on gas hub indefinetely

ISTANBUL, Feb 10 (PRIME) -- Turkey has postponed the next meeting on the gas hub establishment because of an earthquake indefinitely, a source in the Energy Ministry told PRIME Friday.

"There is no new information on the dates of meetings today. The minister and most employees of the ministry are in the disaster zone, this is why the question has not been solved," the source said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the governments of both countries in 2022 to work on creation of a gas hub in Turkey swiftly and in detail. The hub could be used to transfer transit of gas from Russia's Nord Stream pipelines to the Black Sea region, and Erdogan thinks that Europe could receive Russian gas through Turkey.
